Emilie Connor PT, MS, LAc, DAc (RI) –  Founder and President 

“I am passionate about providing care for our Veterans and Service men and women and to help acupuncture reach other underserved populations.”

Emilie completed her training as a Physical Therapist at the College of Physicians and Surgeons at Columbia University 1979, and after graduating with honors from the Tri-State College of Acupuncture (TSCA), also became a nationally board certified and licensed Acupuncturist in 1994.

Emilie is the founder of the Holistic Health Center of Southbury, where she has been effectively integrating conventional and alternative treatment since 1992. In addition to clinical and teaching responsibilities, Emilie has conducted seminars for health care professionals in the field of acupuncture and mindbody medicine across the country and internationally through Thousand Hands Institute, and has led trips in Japan for trainings and spiritual journeys.

Stephen F. Cohen, DAc (RI), MSOM, LAc – Founder and Treasurer

“Through acupuncture, other modalities, and coaching, we treat and encourage patients to return to their truest self and wellbeing.”

A nationally board certified and state licensed Acupuncturist, Stephen graduated with Honors from TSCA in New York City. At Axiom Acupuncture and Well-being, he focuses on helping his patients understand why discomfort, illness or disease manifest in their lives and how to help them heal in a balanced and holistic way.

For almost a decade, Stephen worked for top accounting firms—Arthur Andersen LLP, Deloitte LLP, and Ernst & Young LLP—as a Tax Manager in Mergers and Acquisitions. After his own successful experience with acupuncture and herbology, Stephen left this field for his true calling – East Asian Medicine.

Malinda Sanducci MS, LAc –  Sectretary

“I strongly believe that when you heal yourself, you heal the world. With acupuncture, not only is healing addressed at the physical level but at the emotional, mental, and spiritual levels. By aligning all parts of the Self, deep healing can occur.”

Malinda graduated summa cum laude from New York University with her undergraduate degree in psychology. She went on to pursue a masters of science degree and graduated with honors from TSCA where she received training in Traditional Chinese Medicine, Japanese acupuncture, and a modern style of acupuncture that combines Western myofascial trigger point release with Classical Chinese theory. She has received additional training in Alchemical 5-Element acupuncture and incorporates a variety of non-needle techniques into her work. Her private practice, Dragon Springs Acupuncture, is located in the historic uptown district of Kingston, NY.

Malinda spent almost ten years working with children and adolescents with special needs, Autism, and emotional issues in public schools and group home settings. In her private practice she specializes in working with those living with Parkinson’s Disease.

Maria B. Connor, MD

“I believe in the innate ability of the body to heal, and strongly support the incorporation of nutrition and alternative healing practices in approaching my patient’s medical conditions.”

Born and raised in Bulgaria, Europe, Dr. Connor graduated with honors from the Higher Medical Institute, Plovdiv, Bulgaria. She specialized in neurology and was Assistant Professor in Neurophysiology at the Medical Academy of Bulgaria, where she participated in research and publications on brain topography. After moving to the United States, Dr. Connor completed her residency in Internal Medicine at the Boston University School of Medicine.

She is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and for the last 13 years has been practicing as a Primary Care Physician in Brockton, Massachusetts. She is on the Board of Directors of Compass Medical, P.C., and is serving the community as a Medical Director of Copley Nursing Facility, Stoughton, MA.

Bill Pitman

Bill Pitman owned Roselle Globe Fuel Company, a successful home fueling business, for over 40 years.  For the last 30 years, he has been involved with many small and large scale fundraisers raising money for various children’s health and wellness charities as well as local organizations.  He is a former member of the Board of Directors of the American Diabetes Association.  In his spare time, he enjoys fishing, golfing and spending time with his family.

Terry Rolfe MS, LAc

“Acupuncture and holistic medicine is an amazing way to give back to the community, to nurture my soul while helping others to reach a place of healing and balance is such a gift. I’ve been very fortunate to be a integral part of Changing Health, Inc. and look forward to encompassing more of the veteran’s community in this beautiful healing practice.”

Terry has spent the last 20+ years in the financial world and currently is a Managing Principal and head of the Aviation practice for Integro Insurance Brokers in NYC.   In addition to her executive position in the corporate arena, Terry is a nationally board certified and state licensed Acupuncturist.    She graduated from TSCA in New York City and currently focuses her free time on volunteer efforts with cancer patients and those suffering with stress/trauma/depression.
